So who is JJBEND?

We are a fun loving family of six…Jasmine, Jayden, Belle, Ella, Nat and Dean.

We have 6 feathered friends (Krys, Jericho, Kito, Koko, Kricket and Lacey) and 1 dog (Shiva).

2009 UPDATE

It’s been a long year for us at JJBEND. We have had a lot of excitment and life lessons. We started our year in January saying goodbye to our beloved Mr. Chan. He was an amazing and loving grandfather. It wasn’t an easy time for anyone in the family. It was followed shortly after by my trip to southern Chile with Parrots International and my loyal friend Suzan. The trip was both an exciting and difficult time as I wanted to be at home but was also thrilled at the opportunity to work with parrots in the wild.

I was able to arrange for extra time off work during my summer months so that I could spend some quality time with the girls. It was a fun filled summer doing crafts, hanging out and so on. We spent a week with Jonathon and Abigale up in Tobermory at his cottage where we spent a lot of time hiking. The girls fell in love with the scenery our ventures out by the water.

Ella started Grade 1 this year and Belle signed up for competitive jazz classes. Jasmine still enjoys her magic and Jayden loves to sing and make us laugh. We built a shed with the help of our friend Al. The shed includes a second and third level for the girls to hang out in. We also cemented our back patio and started watching movies out there. It added a lot more fun activities for us to do at home.

Dean and I also ended up on our first ‘honeymoon trip’ to Las Vegas in May for the Parrots International conference. We bought a house for our ‘honeymoon’ when we got married. Our friends Suzan, Connie, Vytas and Dan all ventured out on this adventure as well. We had a great time!

Our blog has been behind by about a year now but watch over the holidays as I am determined to get our blog and photos reposted again.
